One of my relatives who served in the Navy in WWI is listed as CMM on his military grave marker, but I can't find such a rank or designation.

RE: prior email

The other option for the "RM1c" would be to leave the "c" off completely. Thus, it would be "RM1."

Please advise of the correct spelling.

Thank you,

Kitty

I have come across the abbreviation for a rating and rank "RM1c." I assume this means Radioman 1st Class, but am wondering if the "RM1c" is the correct "spelling" of this abbreviation, or should the "c" be capitalized?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Sincerely,

Kitty Ichelson

in a battalion daily log at the bottom of each paragraph they list the day's casualties: KIA--killed in action; MIA--missing in action; WIA--wounded in action. There is one I don't know what it is. It's abs sk. Does anyone know what that stands for?
